Shape Policy

There are times throughout the year when we work with politicians, policymakers, and decision-makers about why our programs are important. We need your help to make that point and make an impact. We will update this page to make you aware of those times when we need you to contact politicians or work at the polls or provide support in some way. Thank you for your willingness to help!

Early Childhood Education

Last year the Ohio Legislature cut Early Learning Initiative during a tough budget year. The cut is significant because a strong early childhood education program is a foundation for future success. Each $1 spent in early childhood education saves $7 in future spending on special education, intervention services, and public support. It pays to invest in preschool.

Off the StreetsSM

In November of 2009 Hamilton County voters approved the Family Services and Treatment Levy, recognizing the importance of treatment services in the community. The levy provides valuable funds for Off the StreetsSM so that we may continue to help women involved in prostitution move towards safety, recovery, empowerment, and community reintegration.

Words of Wisdom

Children who go to preschool are less likely to be held back a grade and spend less time in special education classes.
